We only get one chance at this world. The next planet that could possibly sustain life is
For the first time, scientists have discovered an Earth-size alien planet in the habitable zone of its host star, an "Earth cousin" that just might have liquid water and the right conditions for life. Suppose I wanted to travel to one of the recently discovered potentially Earth-like planets such as Kepler 186f that is 490 light years away. Assuming I had a powerful rocket and enough fuel, how long would it take me? A light year is Okay I don't know how to figure it out but it isn't as if you could go to the grocery store. It may take not only your life time but your children's children life times.
Take notice what you do in everyday life. Do you go to Speedway and get a coffee and use those very handy dandy little plastic cup creamers. Well, it safe to say that plastic will never biodegrade. Do you wonder if Speedway recycles? I doubt that someone sticks their little hands in the trash of little cups and fetches them out. I know that if Speedway went to the larger bottles of creamer, I would use it and they would recycle them.
I was raised around lakes and oceans, and I am ashamed to say that I have been known to throw a beer can away in the water. Thinking that the body of water would reuse the can. Make a reef out of it for the fish. Well, it can't.
Do you think about driving before you enter your car? I do! I think about the CO2 that are destroying our reefs. Soon the only place that we will see marine life will be in the aquariums, as much as I detest them and zoos.
Doesn't the water look refreshing! Well, it won't be if we don't change our ways. I am hoping that this blog will make you think before about life and how we all fit in this world, because that is me and I want to continue floating in the water. The clean water.
